PRODUCT INFORMATION
Calcium formate, the calcium salt of formic acid, is synthesized through the reaction of carbon monoxide and calcium hydroxide or formaldehyde with calcium compounds in an aqueous solution. This versatile compound is integral in the formulation of cementitious building materials and acts as a crucial additive in the processing of oil emulsions.

Properties:Calcium formate is slightly hygroscopic, possessing a mildly bitter taste. It is neutral, non-toxic, and water-soluble, with an aqueous solution remaining neutral. Its solubility is largely unaffected by temperature, dissolving 16g/100g water at 0ºC and 18.4g/100g water at 100ºC.

Construction/ Industrial Grade Calcium Formate

In construction, calcium formate serves as a cement rapid solidification agent, lubricant, and early strength enhancer for building mortar and various concrete types. It accelerates cement hardening, reducing setting time, which is particularly beneficial in winter to counteract slow condensation caused by low temperatures. As an early-strength agent, it facilitates rapid cement stripping and quickens the attainment of cement intensity for immediate use. Its usage increases with decreasing temperature, ensuring significant early-strength effects even with a 0.3-0.5% application in summer.

Feed Grade Calcium Formate

As a novel feed additive, calcium formate enhances weight gain in livestock and poultry. When included in piglet feed, it stimulates appetite and significantly reduces the incidence of diarrhea. Incorporating 1.5% calcium formate in feed during the first weeks post-weaning can increase piglet growth rates by over 12% and improve feed conversion rates by 4%.

Dosage: For dry mortar and concrete, the recommended usage is 0.5-1.0% per ton, with a maximum of 2.8%. As temperatures drop, increase the amount. Even in summer, adding 0.2-0.5% yields early strength benefits. The primary advantage is that it does not corrode steel and is environmentally friendly.






Ideal for cementation in oil drilling.
Serves as an additive for petroleum and natural gas exploration, and is effective in well completion and oil drilling cementation.









Extensively used in the leather industry as a masking agent during the chrome-tanning process.
In tannage formulation, calcium formate ensures faster, more efficient chrome penetration in leather. It can also act as a substitute for formic acid in the pickling process.
